Ranger Stan, a long-time Cast Member at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, has passed away. Stan worked for Disney for over 20 years and was a staple at the Wilderness Lodge since it opened in 1994. He greeted guests, led architectural tours and raised the flags each morning. You can read more about Ranger Stan in this 2009 DIS Unplugged blog post.

Another member of the Disney family recently passed away. Jennings Osborne, the originator of the Osborne Spectacle of Dancing Lights at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, died from complications following heart surgery performed in April. Jennings was known in Little Rock, Arkansas for his massive Christmas light display in the early ’90s. The display drew so many visitors and caused such awful traffic jams that his neighbors decided to file a lawsuit against him. After the courts ruled that his display was a nuisance, Osborne struck a deal with Disney World to provide a holiday light display in 1995. The light display still attracts thousands of guests each Holiday season. Jennings Osborne is survived by his wife, Mitzi, daughter Breezy Osborne-Wingfield, and son-in-law Tristan.
