The opening of the Four Seasons Hotel near Walt Disney World has been pushed back to 2014, according to Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts. First announced in 2007 and scheduled to open in 2010, the development was originally delayed due to the sagging economy. There is still no date set for the groundbreaking.
The hotel is meant to be the center of the new Golden Oak residential subdivision near the Magic Kingdom, which is continuing construction as scheduled. The first 11 of about 450 multi-million dollar homes are currently under construction and all of the lots in the first phase of the community are for sale. A Disney spokesperson said that the delay of the Four Season hotel will not impact the construction of the Golden Oak community.
